For renters
If you rent a motorbike through MotoShare, you are properly WA Full Casco (All-risk) insured with the ‘MotoShare Policy’ of Combi Motors Insurances. The premium for this insurance is included in the rental price as standard.
In case of damage, you as a renter have an own risk of €1500. You can reduce this in advance to €1000 for €9.95 extra per day or reduce it to €700 for €22.95 extra per day. The renter is responsible for damage occurring during the rental period, unless the damage is due to a poor condition of the motorbike or a pre-existing defect.
The ‘MotoShare policy’ is personal. So only the person listed on the rental agreement as the renter may drive the motorbike.
During the rental period, the motorbike must be parked between 11 pm and 7 am in a well-sealed area and out of sight from the public road. The motorbike must be locked in the locked space with an ART category 4 or 5 approved lock. If storage in a properly locked space is not possible, the motorbike must be directly and securely fastened to an ART category 4 or 5 approved wall anchor or ground anchor, or to a sufficiently strong and suitable earth and nailproof object, by means of an ART category 4 or 5 approved chain or bar lock.

Breakdown assistance
If a breakdown occurs during the rental period such as a flat battery or tyre, ANWB Pechhulp on demand can be contacted via the Emergency Centre on +31 088 269 2888. The notification should be made by the renter of the motorbike.
Please note! For the renter, breakdown assistance is not included and the costs incurred will have to be paid directly by the renter. As a renter, have you co-insured breakdown assistance with your rental? In that case, you can claim the costs incurred for breakdown assistance from MotoShare by sending the invoice of the repair including a description of the repairs and defects, the registration number and the number of the rental agreement to info@motoshare.nl.
Furthermore, it is important to inform the owner as soon as possible if you, the renter, have suffered damage to the rented motorbike.
For owners
Mutual private hire is not covered under regular motorbike insurance. Therefore, it must be supplemented with additional insurance during the rental period.
Combi Motors Insurances has developed this additional insurance especially for MotoShare called ‘MotoShare Policy’. The insurance replaces your own motorbike insurance during the rental period. Damage is thus properly insured and there are no consequences for any accumulated No Claim discount on your regular motorbike insurance.
Combi Motors Insurance's insurance automatically applies to all private motorbikes rented through MotoShare. The premium is added to the rental price and paid directly to the insurer after a rental period. Easy, right?
As an owner, you have no excess under this additional WA Fully Casco (All-risk) insurance. What is paid out in case of damage depends on the value of the motorbike. Accessories are separately insured up to a maximum of €750.
A renter has an excess of €1500 and can reduce it to €1000 or €700. If damage occurs during the rental period, you as the owner must report it via MotoShare to Combi Motors Insurances. Combi Motors Insurances will then settle the claim directly with you and the renter.
Is the damage expected to be lower than the renter's own risk? Then the owner and renter should try to resolve the damage between them. If this fails within 48 hours, the owner must still report it to MotoShare. We will then recover the excess from the renter.
Is the damage expected to be higher than the renter's own risk? Then the owner should report this, at most up to 72 hours after the end of the rental period.
The owner must send a copy of a completed and signed rental agreement and European claim form to Combi Motors Insurances. If there is a disagreement between the owner and renter, MotoShare may ask an independent expert to assess the damage. The owner and renter must accept the advice of this independent expert.
The maximum insured value of a motorbike is €25000. SuperSport, motor scooters, sidecar bikes and all other vehicles with more than 2 wheels are not insured by Combi Motors Insurance. These motorbikes can therefore not be rented through MotoShare.
During the rental period, the motorbike should be parked between 23:00 and 7:00 in a well-locked space and out of sight from the public road. In the locked space, the motorbike must be locked with an ART category 4 or 5 approved lock. If storage in a properly locked space is not possible, the motorbike must be properly secured directly to an ART category 4 or 5 approved wall anchor or ground anchor, or to a sufficiently strong and suitable earth and nailproof object by means of an ART category 4 or 5 approved chain or shackle lock. The owner must provide the required locks to the renter before the start of the rental period.

Motorbike businesses (dealers) can rent out their motorbikes via MotoShare. However, this requires their own (All-risk) insurance for the motorbikes. As a business owner through MotoShare, you must therefore have your own insurance that covers rentals. In addition to your own insurance and policy conditions, some additional conditions apply to business rentals on MotoShare. View the general terms and conditions that apply to business rentals.
