Frequently asked questions
MotoShare, our partners and the users do this together by:
Verification of all users:
- Combi Motors Verzekeringen checks each registered user against the Fraud Information System Holland (FISH).
- MotoShare checks the driving licence number of the renter and owner with the Dutch Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (RDW).
- MotoShare checks the licence plate of the motorcycle offered on MotoShare with the RDW.
Before the start of the rental:
- The renter pays the rental price to Mollie in advance. We then pay the owner, Combi Motors Verzekeringen and MotoShare after a successful rental period.
- The owner and renter go through the BRAVOK safety checks and the motorcycle's security requirements.
- Owners check the renter's driver's licence and driver's licence category as a physical double check on the previous MotoShare check.
During the rental:
- With the MotoShare policy, the motorcycle is fully insured (All-risk) during the rental period.
After the rental period:
- After the rental period, the owner and renter must assess each other. This way, abuse never gets a second chance.
Note: We do not check the safety of the motorcycle offered. The renter should therefore check the safety of the motorcycle together with the owner before the rental period and go through the BRAVOK safety checks listed on the handover form.

When renting through MotoShare, the renter and the owner mutually enter into a rental agreement. As a renter, you choose a motorbike and send a rental request to the owner. When the owner accepts your rental request, MotoShare sends you a payment request. After you have paid, you have a rental agreement with the owner.
During the entire rental period, the motorbike is fully insured with third-party, comprehensive and collision coverage under the MotoShare policy.
Don't forget to leave a review after the rental period. This allows subsequent renters to see how they liked the motorbike and their contact with the owner.

Tip! Some rental companies have indicated that you can book the motorbike directly. This means that you do not have to wait for a response from the rental company and can be sure that you can rent the motorbike.
It is possible to rent a motorbike for someone else via MotoShare. This way you can rent a motorbike as a gift. However, it is important that you comply with the following points:

All motorbikes are subject to an excess of €1500 per claim. This amount can be reduced to €1000 or to €700.
If the renter cancels the rental agreement more than 72 hours before the start of the rental period, MotoShare will issue a voucher that can be used for a subsequent rental. The value of the voucher consists of the amount already paid minus the transaction costs.
If the lessor cancels the rental agreement, the rental sum (excluding transaction costs) will be refunded to the lessee's account number.
Please note! If you cancel less than 72 hours before the start of the rental period, you will not receive a voucher. The amount paid minus the administration costs and insurance will then be paid to the lessor.
You can cancel your rental agreement by selecting the agreement in your account under rental overview and then clicking cancel in the top right-hand corner.
