Frequently asked questions
If a renter has driven more kilometres than the number of free kilometres per day, you must report this to MotoShare within 3 days after the rental period. We will then charge the additional costs to the renter and transfer your share to you for the rental period.
How do you report the kilometres? At the end of the rental period, we will send you an email asking you to rate the renter and report the kilometres driven. Log in to the website and go to the rental agreement. At the end of the rental period, report the extra kilometres driven under ‘rating’.
If you do not report the mileage or do not report it on time, the costs for the extra kilometres driven cannot be charged. MotoShare will not reimburse these costs.

When renting out via MotoShare, the renter and owner enter into a rental agreement. During the entire rental period, the motorcycle is fully insured with the MotoShare policy from Combi Motors Verzekeringen. Because MotoShare checks every user, it is safe to rent out your motorcycle.
As the owner, you always decide who you rent your motorcycle to and when. After you have accepted a rental request, all you have to do is print out the rental documents or sign them digitally. You must go through these with the renter before the rental.
After the rental, it is important to give the renter a review. This helps us to keep the community safe and reliable.
MotoShare, our partners and users do this together by:
Verification of all users:
- Combi Motors Insurance checks every registered user against the Fraud Information System Holland (FISH)
- MotoShare checks the driving licence number of the renter and owner with the RDW
- MotoShare checks the registration number of a motorcycle offered on MotoShare with the RDW
Before the start of the rental:
- The renter pays the rental price to PayAut in advance. The foundation only pays the owner, Combi Motors Insurance and MotoShare after a successful rental period.
- Go through the BRAVOK safety checks and the security requirements for the motorcycle with the owner
- Owners check the renter's driving licence and licence category as a physical double check on the previous check by MotoShare.
During the rental:
- With the MotoShare policy, the motorcycle is fully insured for third-party liability and comprehensive cover during the rental period.
After the rental:
- After the rental period, the owner and renter must rate each other. This ensures that abuse never gets a second chance.
We do not check the safety of a motorcycle that is offered for rental. The renter must therefore check the safety of the motorcycle together with the owner before the rental period and complete the BRAVOK safety checks.
The MotoShare policy, in collaboration with Combi Motors Verzekeringen, is a comprehensive insurance policy (All-risk) for the duration of the rental period, which is separate from your regular motorcycle insurance. As the owner, you do not need to take out additional insurance, as this is arranged by MotoShare during the rental period. However, it is important that your motorcycle is insured in accordance with the law.
If damage or theft occurs during the rental period, this will not affect your no-claims bonus with your regular insurer. This is covered by the MotoShare policy.
To rent out your motorcycle more often without any hassle, we recommend activating the ‘accept automatically’ option under settings in your motorcycle profile.
This means you no longer have to respond to every rental request yourself, but the renter can book your motorcycle directly. Activating this option makes your motorcycle profile more attractive to renters and increases your position on the site, allowing you to rent out your motorcycle more often without it taking up much of your time.
Tip! Make sure that the availability of your motorcycle is up to date. This prevents rental requests from being accepted for a day or time when the motorcycle is not available.
To ensure that your motorcycle is attractive to renters, you can make a number of adjustments to the motorcycle profile yourself:
- A competitive rental price for your motorcycle and a discount for multiple days of rental.
- 4 clear photos of your motorcycle in a nice environment and highlighting its unique features,
- Enable direct booking of the motorcycle. This allows the renter to pay for their rental immediately and means that you, as the owner, no longer have to accept each rental request first. You can activate this in the settings of your motorcycle profile.
- Complete description of the motorcycle,
- Personal profile photo of you as the owner
