Top three motorcycle destinations in Brabant

    Biesbosch on a motorcycle

One of the most beautiful nature reserves in our country is the Brabant Biesbosch. This wetland region with river islands is located in the far west of Brabant between the major motorways A16, A15, A27 and A58. From the north, take exit 23 from the A15 or exit 20 from the A16. You will then arrive at the N3 and take the exit for the Hollandse Biesbosch recreation area. From the south, take exit 32 (Made) on the A59. From the east, take exit 23 (Werkendam) or 21 (Hank-Dussen) on the A27. Then follow the signs. There is a car park in Lage Zwaluwe and a foot ferry that takes you into the nature park. You can have a picnic there!

    Mastbos on a motorcycle

The Mastbos forest lies south of Breda. This beautiful deciduous forest extends all the way to the Belgian border. You can take a lovely trip along the borders of this forest area by motorcycle. You will automatically come to the Galderse meren, an area with two large lakes. If the weather is nice, you can take a nice break from your motorcycle trip on the shores of the lakes.

    Van Gogh on a motorcycle

Van Gogh was born in Brabant. Follow in Van Gogh's footsteps on a motorcycle and visit five cities in his province of birth. Van Gogh's birthplace is in Zundert. In Tilburg you can visit the classroom where he took his first art lessons. Vincent had his first studio in Etten-Leur. In the Van Gogh Church you can learn more about the time Van Gogh spent in Brabant. In Nuenen there is an open-air museum with 21 buildings and sites that commemorate the painter. Motorcycle routes in Brabant

North Brabant is a great province for a motorcycle ride. You will be pleasantly surprised by the versatility of the province. The roads are quiet and wind through wooded areas and beautiful farmlands. You can regularly make a stop in authentic villages or beautiful historic cities. Our three favourite routes in North Brabant:

    1. Seven Lordly Villages route

This route runs through the landscape of western Brabant and a small part of Belgium. It is a varied route with many back roads through wooded areas. This motorbike route passes through the following places and can be followed by following the brown signs: Steenbergen, Wouw, Bergen op Zoom, Hoogerheide, Ossendrecht, Huijbergen, Wouwse Plantage, Nispen, Essen, Schijf, Rucphen, Bosschenhoofd, Oudenbosch, Oud Gastel, Stampersgat and Dinteloord.

    2. Maas and Peel route

The Peel is located in the east of Brabant, between the cities of Eindhoven, Den Bosch and Nijmegen. It is a peat bog that was dug up from the beginning of the 19th century because peat could be used as fuel. It is now a protected cultural area with beautiful villages, fields and lots of natural beauty. This route of over 100 kilometres starts north of Eindhoven.

    3. Chaam tour

This 184-km route takes you along the border region of Brabant. You will make a nice tour south of the cities of Breda, Tilburg and Eindhoven. You will pass the enclaves of Baarle Hertog and Baarle Nassau and you can make a stop at the Pimpelmeesch Brewery (you can take the beer home in your top case!).

Enjoying a drink on a terrace in Brabant while travelling by motorcycle

What could be better at the end of a day on your motorcycle than to relax on a terrace, enjoy a drink, watch the world go by and have a chat? Terraces are important for motorcyclists. We have listed our favourite motorcycle terraces in North Brabant.

    In Den Bockenreyder in Esbeek

This beautiful Brabant inn is located in the Hergang, a thousand-year-old forest area south of Hilvarenbeek through which the Reuzel river flows. The inn has been around for more than eighty years and, according to the stories, was once visited by mythical figures who rode their goats through the woods here. The terrace is large and you have a view of the greenery all around.

    Mie Pils' cabin in Waalre

Mie Pils' cabin is located in the woods south of Eindhoven. She came to live here at the end of the 19th century. The cabin was then a simple inn where poachers and travellers came to drink beer and Dutch gin. Outside the hut, on the edge of the forest, a large pot of soup hung over an open fire. Today you can relax on the terraces and enjoy a sandwich or cup of coffee.
