Suzuki is a reliable brand that has been selling many motorcycles in our country for decades. Suzuki has a wide range of motorcycle models with distinctive innovative techniques, leading performance and superior handling. Suzuki motorcycles consistently score highly in tests by international motorcycle journalists.

    History of Suzuki motorcycles

Michio Suzuki was a successful businessman in Japan at the beginning of the 20th century. In 1920 he decided to invest in the construction of motorcycles and founded the Suzuki Motor Company. It was not until the 1950s – after Suzuki's Diamond Free model won a race on Mount Fuji – that sales began to increase in Japan. Suzuki won the world championship in 1962. The following year, Suzuki began selling its bikes worldwide and the famous S became the brand logo.

In the 60s and 70s of the last century, Suzuki was the brand that won the world championship several times. Derivatives of racing models were successfully marketed. The GT750 was a real sales hit. This 2-cylinder could reach a top speed of 177 km per hour and accelerated to 100 km per hour in less than 5 seconds. Suzuki has continued to innovate and has always come out with new sporty-looking models that also prove to be very reliable and easy to maintain.

Suzuki is the brand where every motorcyclist will find a bike that suits him or her perfectly. Enjoy the excellent handling of the GSX series, for example. Enthusiasts praise the cornering behaviour of these naked bikes. Or choose to rent a V-Strom. You will feel remarkably at home on this all-round motorcycle, even on unpaved roads. Beginning motorcyclists can rent a reliable Suzuki GS, -SV or -Bandit from Motoshare. These are ideal motorcycles to get you on your way right away.

    Fast and unique motorcycles

Suzuki is also the brand that has brought two iconic motorcycles to the market in recent years that stand out for their shape and performance: the Katana and the Hayabusa.

    Suzuki Katana

In 1980, a German design agency designed the Katana for Suzuki. The motorcycle's aggressive appearance was created by the large, almost sculpted petrol tank. This made the rider feel more ‘in’ than ‘on’ the Katana. The name refers to a samurai sword. Thanks to its four-cylinder engine with four valves per cylinder, the Katana was also the fastest motorcycle in the world in its day. Suzuki will be re-launching the Katana in 2019. This motorcycle, based on the GSX-S100F, is a tribute to the successful Katana models from the 1980s and 1990s.

    Suzuki Hayabusa

Since 1999, the Suzuki Hayabusa, with its powerful motor and unique streamlining, has been the fastest production motorcycle ever built. Hayabusa is Japanese for peregrine falcon, the natural enemy of the blackbird. Coincidentally, Blackbird is also the name of the Honda CBR1100X.

In 1999, the Hayabusa was shown to have a top speed of over 300 km/h. In the year 2000, after criticism from European governments about the ever-increasing top speeds, the motorcycle manufacturers jointly decided to limit their motorcycles to 300 km/h. With that, the Hayabusa has held the record for more than 20 years.
