Al sinds 1923 gebruiken we de boxermotor – uit overtuiging. De 2-cilinder boxermotor van 1.802 cc van de R 18 is de boxer met de meeste cilinderinhoud die we ooit hebben gebouwd. Het maximale koppel van 158 Nm wordt al ontplooid bij 3.000 t/min. Van 2.000 tot 4.000 t/min is er altijd meer dan 150 Nm beschikbaar en daarmee een continu hoog koppel bij een voor een boxer karakteristieke motorloop. Bij 4.750 t/min levert de "Big Boxer" 67 kW (91 pk). Waarbij het binnenwerk traditie met moderne techniek combineert. Voor pure emotie op de weg.
